Why is it important to teach shapes this early to children?
Most might be thinking this way…they will learn everything in a while…why is it important
But we should know that the basic things the children notice are colours and shapes ….That are the two things through which they see the real world and relate it.
Colours, we have already discussed some activities in our previous blog

So now regarding shapes, it’s easy to learn the basic shapes such as circle and square.. whereas when it comes to pentagon, hexagon, trapezium etc. it’s mostly tough for kids to recognize it easily.
And for some children there are chances that they get confused with similar shapes, for instance circle and oval, rectangle and square etc. This is mainly because of they are not thorough with basic shapes and concepts.
In order to make our children familiarize the shapes it’s always better to teach them through games and activities, that they will enjoy learning and the concept of shapes remains in their mind for ever.
So here are some activities for children to familiarize the shapes
