It’s often a part of early developmental screening as well as educational admittance. Early identification of colors helps to develop connection between visual clues and language.
Kids love colors and learning colors is really a fun time for them.Usually children start to learn colors at preschool. But its better to introduce colors to our children even before that, with these 10+ fun filled activities.
Take print out of these activity sheets and cut out sheets. Cut each image from each cutout sheet and place in a box or file.

1. Activity Sheet 1 – Color Balls
Provide the activity sheet -1 and the jumbled up images of cutout sheet -1 to your child and ask him to match each color ball on the activity sheet with the cutouts.
2. Activity Sheet 2 – Color Birds
Provide the activity sheet -2 and the jumbled up images of cutout sheet -2 to your child and ask him to match each color birds on the activity sheet with the cutouts.
3. Activity Sheet 3 – Color Bus
Provide the activity sheet -3 and the jumbled up images of cutout sheet -3 to your child and ask him to match each color bus on the activity sheet with the cutouts.
4. Activity Sheet 4 – Color Glass
Provide the activity sheet -4 and the jumbled up images of cutout sheet -4 to your child and ask him to match each color glass on the activity sheet with the cutouts.
5. Activity Sheet 5 – Color Flowers
Provide the activity sheet -5 and the color pom- poms to your child and ask him to match each color flower on the activity sheet with the matching pom poms.
6. Activity Sheet 6 – Color Sorting
Cut each image of the activity sheet 6 and jumble it up. Ask your child to sort all red color images and keep it together, green color images together and so on.
7. Activity Sheet 7- Signal and Pop stick
Provide the activity sheet -7 and the color Pop sticks to your child and ask him to match each color on the activity sheet with the matching pop sticks.
8. Activity 8- Ice cream cone and scoop
Take A4 size color sheets/construction paper cut it in to ice cream cone and scoops. Place the cones in front of your child and ask him to match the scoops.
9. Activity 9 – Pencil and the pockets
Take some A4 size color sheets cut it in to curved square shape and paste it as pocket on a white sheet. Cut the same color sheets in shape of pencils and ask your child to put pencil in the respective color pockets.
10. Activity 10 – Color Dough and Sticks
Take some Color dough, cut a used tissue roll or foil and fill the roll with the dough. Provide color sticks to your child and ask him to place the stick on the matching dough.
11. Activity 11- Matching Multiple Elements
Take a sheet with multiple colored images, like animals, birds, fish etc. Give him some pom- poms and ask him to match the pom- pom with the images.
12. Activity 12- Tail for the bunny
Cut the color construction papers in bunny shape, stick a double side tape on it’s back. Give your child some pom poms and ask him to fix a tail for the bunny with matching pom – poms
13. Activity 13- Basketing the balls
Provide your child with some color balls and baskets of respective colors.
Ask him to basket the red ball in red basket , green in green, yellow in yellow and so on.
